It is a very difficult question to answer. First you have to know the hesitating of walking/moving is due to bone hurting or tireness of the muscle. If it is due to bone damage, of course it is no good for CHD dog. If it is just due to the overusing the muscle which is the purpose we like to enhance for CHD dog and there should be ok to let them have a little sore muscle after everyday's exercises.
You have to observe thoroughly and make your own program for your dog. Not every dog suits to the same way.
Another way to judge is when your dog hesitates to move in the 2nd day after exercise, then he may be overexercise or hurting himself. You need to give him a few days rest to see how is he doing. Some doctors will recommend to exercise the dog on every other day program if the dog has CHD problem.
I hope you can catch the points of my answer because it is not easy to describe well here. If you can't, do not worry just call me after Nov.25th till Dec.4th when I am in Taiwan.
