Dear Dr.Lee,

We've got the report already and thanks for your
recommend. We will follow what you told us and the
best way is to take care of Van-Tou(蠻頭).

I need some suggestions from Dr.Lee.

The report shows Van-tou got moderate CHD on both
hips,but only his Rt side hildleg toe is obviously
points-out and muscles is atrophy. So,while Van-tou is
walking we can see he swaying. Dr.Shih said these
symptoms might because of the pain.

Some vets recommend we could give Van-tou some pain
killer(NSAID) and APT(Q10) to make Van-tou feels better
and keeps his muscles stronger.

Should I give Van-tou the NSAID and APT ? I don't
know which one is better for him.

At last,we do really really appreciate Dr.Lee's help.

I did talk to your father today.
He told me that Montou is very active and running alots which is the bad factor for the dog has CHD in this young age.
He need proper controlled type exercise but not uncontrolled types like free running and playing. From now till 10-12 months old is the most important stage for CHD dog. No matter how you have to control him well to prevent further damage on his developing hip joints. Leashed walking and trotting is the best way to improve his muscular strength besides swimming.
Another major factor is body weight control. Keep him as slim as possible and slow down the growing speed is very important now. You can build up his body condition once he pass the most dangerous age for CHD in the future.
A few months of hard work will let him has great life in the future, so please try to perform the conservative management strictly in the next 6-7 months.r
